Today our forestry team competed in the Stevens County Forestry Contest against teams from multiple schools around the area in several events including; a general knowledge exam, chainsaw knowledge/safety, forestry tool identification, tree identification, disease identification, compass and pacing, and timber cruising. Despite having only two members (compared to the other teams 4-5 members) they earned second place in the team timber cruising event. This event tests the students' ability to determine the average number of board feet that can be gotten out of a specified stand of trees. This task requires a knowledge of how to use several forestry tools as well as how to apply mathematical concepts to real life scenarios.

Attention Community Members! 🌟
Our Small Gas Engines class is looking for lawn mowers for students to fix as part of their hands-on learning experience. If you have an old lawn mower that you no longer need and don’t want back, we’d love to give it a new purpose in our classroom!
Donated mowers will provide our students with valuable skills and knowledge, and we greatly appreciate your support in helping them learn and grow.
If you’re interested in donating, please call the high school at 509-738-6388 for more details. Thank you for supporting our students and their education! 🚜🔧
