A huge thank you to everyone who came out and donated blood today! Thanks to your generosity, Vitalant collected 19 units of blood — and since each unit can potentially save three lives, that means 57 lives could be saved because of YOU! 💪❤️ We’re so proud of our amazing community and grateful for your support in helping FCCLA make a real difference. Together, we are saving lives! 🙌

Today our forestry team competed in the Stevens County Forestry Contest against teams from multiple schools around the area in several events including; a general knowledge exam, chainsaw knowledge/safety, forestry tool identification, tree identification, disease identification, compass and pacing, and timber cruising. Despite having only two members (compared to the other teams 4-5 members) they earned second place in the team timber cruising event. This event tests the students' ability to determine the average number of board feet that can be gotten out of a specified stand of trees. This task requires a knowledge of how to use several forestry tools as well as how to apply mathematical concepts to real life scenarios.
