At Kettle Falls Elementary we have started to explore more in science. 3rd Graders got to explore Balance and Motion in science. They created classroom Agreements, and Notice and Wonders. They also tried hands-on experimenting with their balancing kits. Students will make observations of an object's motion to provide evidence that a pattern can be used to predict future motion while studying forces and interactions.

“The Historical Center Needs Us” 3rd Grade students spent Better World Day cleaning up the grounds (sticks, pinecones, and pulled tree saplings) outside at the Kettle Falls Historical Center and creating posters to raise awareness and collect donations for the reconstruction of the museum. The KF Historical Center flooded this winter and is going through major reconstruction to repair, restore, and replace parts of the building and a number of artifacts. For many years it has been an important resource for the schools in our area, the community, and tourists to learn about our local history. Would you consider helping with the Kettle Falls Historical Center reconstruction?

Are you feeling Ducky? Students in Mrs. Maier’s Kindergarten class had some special feathery visitors. Maverick brought his new baby ducks (Mallards and Khaki Campbells) for show and tell. The students got to practice holding them and ask questions to learn more. They learned the Khaki Campbells grow to be bigger than the Mallards and that as babies they need to stay very warm.
