The elementary had a blast at our Christmas Assembly! We traded textbooks for tinsel and decorated the faculty with green paper and ornaments.
Between the snowball unwrapping and the intense rounds of Pass the Present, the energy was 10/10. Huge shoutout to the teachers for being such good sports! We hope everyone has a wonderful and restful holiday season!

We are thrilled to share that our first-grade students are diving into an exciting new skill: telling time!
They are actively learning the difference between the hour hand and the minute hand, and understanding how to read both analog and digital clocks. This is a foundational life skill that also reinforces their counting and number recognition.
Ask your student tonight: "What time do the hands say?" You might be surprised by how much they've already learned!

Students and staff are embracing the spirit by decorating doors with festive themes, including whimsical scenes featuring Santa Claus, and creating beautiful displays like intricate paper snowflakes and sparkling winter collages. These creative projects are bringing a wave of warmth and excitement to our hallways, creating a fun atmosphere for everyone to enjoy as the break approaches.

Ms. Mitchell's literary detectives are hard at work! This week, they're not just reading poetry about bats—they're exploring how authors use words like paintbrushes to create vivid scenes and strong feelings for the reader.
Our 4th graders are becoming experts at pulling out text evidence to identify words and phrases that specifically help us visualize the setting, such as describing a "mossy cave" or "midnight sky," and words that create a specific mood, like using vocabulary that makes the poem feel "eerie" or "peaceful." It's all about understanding the writer's craft! They're learning that every word choice is intentional, directly impacting how we picture the story and how we feel while reading it.

Our second graders are becoming master portrait artists in art class! This week, they are focused on creating self-portraits, learning important techniques such as understanding facial symmetry—how the face is balanced—and accurately sketching features like eyes, noses, and mouths in the right spots. They are doing a wonderful job observing themselves and translating their unique features onto the paper.

Our talented student artists have been diving into some challenging but rewarding work: drawing people! This week, they are focused on one of the most fundamental skills in figure drawing: proportions.
It’s not easy to capture the human body accurately, but our students are learning about scale, measuring key features, and understanding how different parts of the body relate to one another.
We are so proud of their focus and dedication as they tackle these advanced concepts! Keep an eye out for their amazing finished portraits and figures.

It's inspiring to see our 3rd graders so deeply engaged with the Math Bridges curriculum. As this photo shows, they're not just solving problems, they're building essential study skills like focused note-taking and critical thinking. The Math Bridges curriculum encourages students to be active participants in their learning, whether they're drawing diagrams, organizing steps, or thinking through solutions with their peers. These aren't just skills for math class; they're valuable habits that will serve our students throughout their academic careers and beyond.
