8th Grade Promotion
8th grade students participated in the annual 8th grade promotion ceremony. Seven students received a Presidential Excellence Award for maintaining above a 3.75 GPA for their 7th and 8th grade years. All students received an award and presented a flower to their parents. A dance followed the ceremony. It was a fun way to end their years at KFMS!

Move Up Advisory Olympics
Students participated in 4 different sessions of outside games in their new 24-25 advisory group. Students completed in an egg tops, sack race, tug of water competition, and water races. Advisory groups were awarded bronze, silver, or gold based on their teamwork and completion of the different activities.

Build a Better World Day

Build a Better World Day
The KFMS 5th grade classes spent the last week painting "Kindness" rocks that they scattered all over town for people to find. This act of service and kindness touch on two of our core habits in the KFMS school goal: At KFMS we demonstrate kindness, responsibility, and teamwork, increasing our sense of belonging, growth mindset, and the value service plays in our lives, schools, and community.

8th grade students are serving Kettle Falls on Build a Better World Day by cleaning up the KF.

5th grade students are enjoying the new math curriculum that was adopted by KFMS this year. Students are practicing dividing fractions with a BINGO game.

KFMS students celebrated Autism Awareness Month with a grade level completion. Mrs. Burke visited the school and taught students about students with Autism and the challenges that they face at an all school assembly. The Friday before the 2nd annual community walk, the students at KFMS completed as many laps as possible around the track during their PE/Art time. The 7th grade class came in first by completing 597 laps for a total of 149.25 miles. Congrats to them for bragging rights for the next year!

WE DID IT! KFMS is a cell-phone free zone from 8:10- 2:40. We have been talking about this for years and we finally had enough adult support at recess to do it! Students are able to use the office phone to call home if needed during the day. It is great to see the students playing games and talking with each other without cell phones in their hands!

The KFMS 7th Grade Math is Cool Team traveled to Moses Lake last month to compete in the Masters Competition. The team didn't return with any rewards but competed well against the top 11 seventh grade teams in Washington state. They spent some time on their way there at the Colville High School Electronics lab using various components to build circuits. Congrats to the Bulldog Mathletes on their successful season!

Mrs. Read hosts an after school Homework Club four days a week for KFMS students. It gives students time to make up missing work or meet with a teacher for some extra help. The 6th grade students have the best attendance for this voluntary club. We are proud of their commitment to showing responsibility and growth mindset. Our KFMS goal: At KFMS we demonstrate kindness, responsibility, and teamwork, increasing our sense of belonging, growth mindset, and the value service plays in our lives, schools, and community.
