A huge thank you to our wonderful community volunteers who served as judges, listened to their stories, and helped prepare our grads for the future. We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2026! 🌟

🌊 Freshmen Making Waves!
Our KFHS Freshmen aren’t just the new kids on the block—they’re already making a massive impact! 🛠️💪
As part of Better World Day, a dedicated group of our 9th graders headed down to the Myers Interpretive Center to give back to our local environment. From clearing brush to tidying up the trails, these students worked hard to ensure this community gem stays beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
Watching our youngest high schoolers step up and take pride in our local history and nature is what being a Bulldog is all about! 👑✨

🐾 Bulldogs in the Park!
The Kettle Falls Bulldogs were out in full force for Better World Day, and our Freshmen class truly knocked it out of the park! ⚾🌳
A massive group of our 9th graders spent the day at Happy Dell Park, raking, cleaning, and prepping one of our favorite community spots for the sunny days ahead. It’s amazing to see our students taking ownership of the places where we play, gather, and grow.

Junior Class: Campus Transformation!
The Junior Class brought the muscle and the vision to campus for Better World Day! 🛠️✨
Our 11th graders spent the day beautifying the grounds of KFHS, spreading fresh bark and tackling landscaping projects to keep our Dawg House looking its absolute best. It was hard work, but the results speak for themselves—the campus has never looked sharper!
Shout out to the Juniors for showing leadership through service and taking such great pride in the place we call home every day. Way to go, Bulldogs! 🐶💪🔥

🦇 Building for the Bats!
One of the coolest projects from Better World Day involved some of our awesome students teaming up with local 2nd graders to build bat houses for the community! 🔨🏡
It was a total win-win: our students got to flex their mentorship skills while teaching the younger kids about the importance of bats in our ecosystem (and how to handle a hammer!). These handmade houses will provide safe homes for our local bat population, helping with natural pest control around town.
Watching the big kids and the little kids work together to build something for the environment is exactly what this day is all about. Great job, builders! 🐾🌟

🌻 Senior Service in the Soil!
Our Seniors took the lead for Better World Day by getting their hands dirty in the Community Garden! 🌿🥕
As they prepare to head out into the world, the Class of 2026 spent the morning giving back right here at home. From weeding and prepping beds to spreading gravel for the paths, these Bulldogs worked hard to ensure our community has a beautiful, productive space to grow.
It’s inspiring to see our soon-to-be grads planting seeds of kindness and hard work before they turn the page to their next chapter! 🎓🚜

❤️ Giving Back at in Kettle!
Today was a special one at KFHS as we celebrated Better World Day! 🌎✨
A huge shout-out to Mrs. House and her amazing students for rolling up their sleeves and putting in the work. They spent the day honoring a legacy by cleaning up and beautifying the Matthew Dehle Memorial.
It’s more than just landscaping; it’s about community, remembrance, and showing that even small actions can make our world a whole lot brighter.
We are so proud of our students for leading with their hearts! 🐝💙

🛡️ A Powerful Lesson in Choice and Safety 🛡️
Last week, KFHS held an incredibly moving DUI Prevention event that we won’t soon forget. Our students were focused, respectful, and fully engaged as they witnessed the sobering reality of the choices we make behind the wheel.
It began with a simulated car crash, where our local first responders volunteered their time to show exactly what happens at a high-stakes scene. The impact was made even more real thanks to our local funeral home, who helped us organize a mock funeral for the student involved, driving home the permanent consequences of a single decision.
A massive THANK YOU to:
Mrs. Usher and the Leadership Class for taking point and organizing every detail of this event.
Our First Responders for their service and for helping us teach this vital lesson.
Our community partners and the guest speakers who shared their perspectives and stories with our students.
It wasn't an easy morning, but it was an important one. We are so proud of the maturity our students showed throughout the assembly. Let’s keep looking out for one another! 🧡🛡️

Our talented students headed to Central Washington University this past Saturday, April 25th, for the Fashion Industry Conference, and they certainly made an impression! 👗🧵

The highlight of the day? The Sustainable Fashion Challenge! We are beyond proud to announce that our very own Cheyenne Mullins took home 1st Place! 🏆 Her winning entry—a stunning dress crafted entirely from recycled jeans—showcased incredible creativity and a commitment to eco-friendly design.
Between classes and competitions, the group also got a chance to explore the beautiful CWU campus and get a taste of college life.

🌲 State Forestry Success in Aberdeen! 🌲
Our KFHS Forestry team just returned from an incredible 3-day journey to Aberdeen for the State Forestry Competition, and we couldn't be prouder of their growth and Winning Character! 🐾
This trip was a masterclass in hands-on learning. The team explored the Ginkgo National Forest, hiked Snoqualmie Falls, and studied watersheds at Bottle Beach. From handling petrified wood to identifying Western Red Cedars and discussing renewable energy, our students saw firsthand how the timber industry connects to our environment and power grid. 🗺️💧
The Main Event: State Competition 🏆
Our Bulldogs went head-to-head with the best in the state, competing in technical events like:
✅ Timber Cruising & Map Interpretation
✅ Chainsaw Safety, Parts, and Diagnosis
✅ Tree & Tool ID
✅ Compass and Pacing
The results? Our students brought in their highest scores of the entire year! 📈 What makes this even more impressive is that our young team held their own against senior-heavy squads who have been practicing for years.
Their Effort and Discipline are clearly paying off. Congratulations to the team for a fantastic season and for representing Kettle Falls so well on the state stage!
