Dr. Fox sent Mrs. Walker an email extending her heartfelt congratulations on the coloring contest.
It was truly an amazing job well done! The chosen coloring pages were fantastic, capturing the essence of autumn perfectly. The contest allowed all students to participate and showcased their creativity. It was very difficult to choose a specific winner as all were done so well.
The winners are:
5th grade Tripp Johnson
6th grade Piper Richartz
7th grade Avery Tobias
8th grade Meikah Holland

Mr. Ballance's science classes are programming Sphero Robots to travel through Whoville to sweep all the presents out and ruin Christmas. They have spent this week learning how to program their robot with the iPad. They use the Sphero App and problem solve with partners on how to write a program to move through the maze.

KFMS wrestlers have been very competitive in all of their meets this year. This last week our team of 22 wrestlers hosted a home meet and the gym was packed with spectators! We are very proud of the entire team! Thank you to coaches, Steve Kenney and AJ Howard for their hard work and dedication to the Bulldogs!

Mrs. Phillips' 6th grade classes finished up their coordinates and graphing unit with some Battleship games. The students completed a worksheet to set up their battleship locations and then mapped the coordinates on the graph. Students were fully engaged in this lesson! When was the last time you played Battleship?

The community based middle school robotic teams, Robopups and Robodogs, both advanced to the state completion held at EWU in January. The Ronopups won the robot game with the highest score and the Robodogs won the Grand Champion award. Thanks again to volunteer coaches, Mike Rubin and Glenn Hume! Go Bulldogs!

8th grade band students showcased their new musical skills at Mr. Scarborough's Winter Music Concert. They started with some beginner band songs and ended with Holiday music. The "Holiday Sampler" took all of the skills that they had been working on and combined it into their first challenging tune. Thank you Mr. Scharbrough and students for a fun evening filled with music!

KFMS PE has been playing a new game called "Nitro Ball". It is a fun variation of Volleyball where the net is lower, the ball has to bounce off the floor and everyone gets an opportunity to spike the ball.

Art students at KFMS are in the middle of a cartoon unit where they got to choose a cartoon character and the medium to create 3D images. Students were able to use chalk pastels, oil pastels, watercolor, crayons, colored pencils, and sharpies. Which is your favorite cartoon character?

The Kettle Falls Developmental Preschool is located behind the middle school in the beautifully remodeled blue building. Mrs Burke and Ms. Cousins, assisted by numerous high school teacher assistants, and school specialists serve up to ten students, four days a week. Students learn the expectations of school while they build their academics and social skills through play, crafts, singing, and fun!

Girls' Basketball has started at KFMS! This year we have three teams with over twenty girls participating. Families and staff members have enjoyed the last two home games. Come help us cheer them on!

Blessings come in many ways however, when it comes to feeding students and community a home cooked meal for Thanksgiving, it brings much joy to the Food service staff. Between all 3 schools and ELC we served approx.. 870 meals. We couldn’t be more proud of our kitchen staff and all of those who volunteered to help them serve up a wonderful Turkey lunch.

With a winter nip in the air, there is nothing like biscuits and gravy
with scrambled eggs to warm the day. Biscuits and gravy with scrambled
eggs and cheese are served on Wednesdays every week. Middle school
students love it.

Volunteers, Mike Rubin and Glenn Hume, are running two different community based Robotics Teams. These competition teams meet at the middle school but are not affiliated with the school. They have over 20 students and high school mentors who meet twice a week to learn about this years challenge and prepare for the competition at the beginning of December. Our community is very lucky to have such dedicated volunteers!! Thank you!
