More Than Just a Classroom: Strengthening Our Bonds Through Family Engagement
At KFELC, we believe that education is a team effort. While the learning that happens each day is vital, the magic truly happens when we open our doors to the families who make our community whole. Recently, we’ve seen firsthand how Family Engagement creates a supportive, joyful environment for our students to thrive.
Celebrating Friendship and Creativity
Over in Ms. Amanda’s class, love was in the air during our Valentine’s Day celebration. Family members joined us for an afternoon of heartfelt connection, where students exchanged valentines and got creative with cookie-decorating. These moments allow parents to see their children’s social worlds up close, turning a simple school party into a cherished family memory.
Sweet Starts & St. Paddy’s Fun
In Ms. Cassy’s class, we recently hosted "Pastries with Parents" during morning drop-off. There is no better way to start the day than with a doughnut and a smile! After enjoying some treats, parents stayed to dive into festive St. Patrick’s Day activities with their children. Seeing parents and students collaborate on crafts before we started our daily routines reminded us that a little extra time together can set the tone for a week of success.
Why It Matters
When families are involved, students feel a greater sense of belonging and pride in their school. These events aren’t just about doughnuts or cookies; they are about:
Building Trust: Creating open lines of communication between teachers and parents.
Modeling Connection: Showing our students that their education is valued by the most important people in their lives.
Creating Memories: Making school a place of joy and community.
We want to extend a huge thank you to every parent and guardian who took the time to join us. Your presence makes our school a brighter place!
