The transition to middle school doesn’t begin on the first day of school at KFMS—it starts months before!
Last spring, our incoming 5th graders visited KFMS to tour the school, enjoy recess and lunch, and begin getting comfortable with their new surroundings. On the last day of school, they met their advisors, participated in Advisory Olympics, and celebrated with a visit from Jimbo and his ice cream truck!
The night before school started, students and families returned for our Back to School BBQ, where students met their teachers, received their schedules, moved into their lockers, enjoyed a hot dog, and completed a scavenger hunt. On the first day, students rotated through stations around the building learning KFMS expectations and routines.
Since then, our newest Bulldogs have been busy getting to know their teachers, classmates, and their new school. We’ve loved hearing positive feedback from students and families about how much they are enjoying KFMS.
We are so excited to have our 5th graders with us and hope they already feel at home and proud to be KFMS Bulldogs! 💙🐾
