At KFMS, our school goal is more than words on a wall:
“At KFMS we demonstrate kindness, responsibility, and teamwork, increasing our sense of belonging, growth mindset, and the value service plays in our lives, schools, and community.”
Every day, teachers and staff intentionally focus on the words within this goal and encourage students—and one another—to strive to put them into action. The goal is posted throughout the school as a daily reminder of the kind of school community we want to create together.
One way we celebrate students who are living our goal is through our Focused Recognition Program. When a staff member catches a student demonstrating one of these values, the student receives a Focused Recognition Card. Mrs. Hooper then makes a positive phone call home to share what the student was caught doing. When a student earns three recognitions, Mrs. Vining sends a postcard home celebrating their accomplishment. We want students to know that the positive choices they make each day matter—and we want families to hear about the amazing things happening at KFMS!
