Win Bin for Focused Recognition

Focused Recognition At Kettle Falls Middle School, our Focused Recognition System is one of the key ways we bring our school-wide goal to life: At KFMS we demonstrate kindness, responsibility, and teamwork, increasing our sense of belonging, growth mindset, and the value service plays in our lives, schools, and community. This system allows staff to intentionally recognize students who are living out these values each day. Students can be acknowledged for Kindness, Responsibility, Teamwork, Growth Mindset, and Service—helping reinforce the positive behaviors and character traits we want to see throughout our building.

When a student is recognized, staff members present them with a certificate and share a copy with Mrs. Hooper. From there, the celebration continues with a personal phone call home, ensuring families hear directly about the positive impact their student is making at school. After a student earns three recognitions and three positive phone calls, Mrs. Vining sends a postcard home to celebrate their continued efforts and strong character. This layered approach helps strengthen the connection between school and home while making sure students feel seen, valued, and encouraged.

This month, Mrs. Hooper and our ASB students took our positive focus to the next level by adding “Advisory Student of the Week,” recognizing all Honor Roll students, and centering our efforts around the character trait of responsibility. The results were incredible—over 255 Focused Recognitions were given, leading to 255 positive phone calls home in just one month. WHOOHOO! In addition, over 20 student names were drawn for our “Win Bin,” where they were able to select prizes as an extra celebration of their positive actions. We are proud of our students and staff for building a culture where positivity, recognition, and strong character are celebrated every day at KFMS.Focused Recognition Focused Recognition Focused Recognition Focused Recognition
