KFMS ASB

Kettle Falls Middle School ASB students recently took on an important leadership role by diving into data from a schoolwide student survey. The survey focused on key areas such as student belonging, feelings of safety, and the “words we use with each other.” Working alongside a team of student support staff, ASB students carefully reviewed the results to better understand the student experience at KFMS.

Using a simple but powerful three-step process—“I Notice, I Wonder, and Next Steps”—students identified patterns in the data and discussed what they mean for our school community. From these conversations, ASB helped highlight areas where staff can continue to grow and suggested ways Advisory lessons can support students. As a result, three targeted lessons will be taught during the month of April, directly connected to the feedback gathered from students.

To measure the impact of these efforts, students will take the survey again in mid-May. ASB will then reconvene to review the new data and determine how our actions influenced student experiences. This work represents a huge step forward in student leadership at KFMS, and our ASB students are excited to continue building their role in shaping a positive, inclusive school culture.
