KFMS Student Led Conferences

Kettle Falls Middle School has proudly used the Student-Led Conference (SLC) model for more than 15 years, and it continues to be one of our most meaningful traditions. We hold conferences twice a year—once in the fall and again in the spring—to support ongoing growth and reflection.

During SLCs, students take the lead. They guide their parents through their work, share their academic and personal goals, and discuss their current performance in each subject. Students also review their state test scores and make predictions for their spring scores, helping them take ownership of their learning.

Families meet with their student’s advisor and can visit other teachers if they would like additional information or have questions. As always, our office team greets families at the door with a warm smile—and a treat—because we value building connections and making everyone feel welcome.

Student-Led Conferences provide a powerful opportunity for students to grow in confidence, take responsibility for their learning, and strengthen the home-school partnership. We look forward to seeing you there as we continue to support learning, belonging, and success for every student.
