Kettle Falls Middle School students have the opportunity to discover the joy of music through band, under the direction of Mr. Jacob Scharbarough. Seventh-grade students are enrolled in band for one semester, where they are introduced to a variety of instruments and learn the fundamentals of reading music, rhythm, and ensemble playing. This introductory experience gives students a strong foundation in musical skill and teamwork while fostering creativity and confidence.
In eighth grade, students have the option to continue their musical journey by choosing band as an elective. Those who do become part of the school’s performing ensemble, participating in concerts and special events throughout the year. Under Mr. Scharbarough’s leadership, the KFMS band not only builds musical ability but also creates a sense of pride and community among its members—proving that music truly brings people together.
