At Kettle Falls Elementary, student safety is a priority that extends far beyond the classroom walls. This week, our 4th-grade students participated in a vital, hands-on lesson in brain health and injury prevention through a generous partnership with Providence.

The presentation focused on the critical importance of protecting young brains during outdoor activities. Students explored the "why" behind helmet safety—understanding that a properly fitted helmet is the single most effective way to prevent head injuries while biking, scooting, or skating.

A highlight of the session was a surprise visit from Stitch, who engaged the students in interactive demonstrations on how to stay safe while staying active. To ensure every student could immediately apply these lessons, Providence donated a brand-new, high-quality helmet to every member of the 4th-grade class.

This initiative underscores a commitment to the "whole child," ensuring that every student feels valued and protected both during and after school hours. We are incredibly grateful for partners like Providence who invest so deeply in the well-being of our students. By providing both the knowledge and the equipment necessary for safety, this partnership serves as a premier example of how the Kettle Falls community collaborates to support our young learners.

As our students head outside this spring, they do so equipped with both the tools and the "know-how" to stay safe.
