At Kettle Falls School District, we want the materials our students use each day to be engaging, meaningful, and aligned with what they need to learn.
One way we do this is through our Instructional Materials Committee, or IMC. Our IMC helps guide the process of reviewing and selecting curriculum across the district. Teachers and staff work together to research, review, and pilot materials, while also considering student needs, state standards, grade-level alignment, and long-term use.
Families and community members are also an important part of this process. Before curriculum is recommended for adoption to the school board, there are opportunities for our families and community to review the materials being considered and provide feedback.
At Kettle Falls, our goal is simple: to make thoughtful curriculum decisions that support great teaching and strong learning experiences for every student, every day. Great work, team!
