This spring 18 Kettle Falls H.S. students participated in the Congressional Institute's nationwide high school visual art competition. This is sponsored through our region 5 district representative, Cathy McMorris-Rodgers, to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol. There was a large turn out from Spokane area schools this year, and although Kettle Falls didn't place like we did last year, students had a great experience and worked very hard on their drawings, paintings, mixed media, digital art and photography. A big thank you to our participating students! We represented well!
