This fall in commercial art, students are focusing on the following essential questions: What is my personal definition of art? What are the basic elements of art? What emotional qualities does line have? and How can I define the form using contour line(s)? Each of these essential questions became a distance learning assignment that students both engaged in and enjoyed. Art students uploaded their drawings using personal cell phones / cameras to Google Classroom. Advanced art students also took line and shading to another level with drawing photorealistic eyes. Distance teaching and learning with art has been a challenge, but with active communication and high expectations, the quality of student work is stunning. Student work is currently on display at the high school as we welcome students back into the building.
