Egg-ceptional Science Experiments

Middle School Students took a time out from their science classrooms to participate in the big “Egg Drop” experiment on Novembers half day.  Teachers Mr. Heideman and Ms. Nokes introduced 7th and 8th grade science students to physics and materials science through the egg drop project.  Students used multiple types of materials to make devices that simulated parachutes and other similar features seen in nature.  The “Egg Drop” experiment include timing the falls  of the students devices to calculate the average speed, measuring the deformations of the devices after the drop, and data analysis to compare which materials worked best overall.
