The Kettle Falls 1st grade CREW went to Canyon Creek campground geocaching for adventure. The students had to follow the GPS to hidden task cards in the woods, which gave them directions for an activity. One of these activities was building a life sized maze out of sticks. The maze needed a starting point and ending point. Each group left their maze for the next team to solve. Another activity was a nature rub. The students put something like a leaf under a paper and rubbed a crayon back and forth. It made a pattern that was really cool. Other tasks were building a natural obstacle course and going on a scavenger hunt. In the last activity, the students built a boat with only natural materials from the woods. Then they got to see how far their boat would float down the creek. This adventure was a day for creativity, problem solving, and teamwork!
