The 2ndgraders are becoming Paleontologists by studying fossils and dinosaurs during Expedition. They have been gathering important information by reading complex text. They are also building the literacy skill of using evidence to answer questions and making inferences. During labs, which is an extension of Expedition, the students are researching a specific dinosaur. They will use their new knowledge to create a realistic model of their dinosaur. Another part of labs is fossil digging. The young Paleontologists have been carefully extracting bones from clay so they can put them together to build a model.
