Making Turkeys to decorate our houses for Thanksgiving
Learning Targets:
I can use scissors to cut feathers on my turkey.
I can follow directions when making my turkey.
We made no bake pumpkin pies by following a recipe and measuring the ingredients.
Enjoying our delicious pumpkin pies.

We Are Mathematicians!

We do challenging math by showing EFFORT and never giving up!
Learnng Target: I can build and compare groups of numbers 1-10.
Andrea, Tamika, & Amaeliya can build and compare 3 numbers. Natalee says her 9 is not equal to Devan's 10.
Todd & Judah comparing #s 10 and 8. Avery says her 2 is not equal to Felicity's 7.
Sawyer says her 3 is not equal to Preston's 9.
Learnng Target: I can identify, order, and count numbers 1-10.
Preston is matching objects (bugs) to a number. Piper is matching three sea creatures to the number 3.
Tamika is counting two frogs to match to the number 2. Kanen is challenging himself with the number 6.
Natalee is showing 7 with a set of 4 frogs and 3 more frogs.
Learning Target: I can identify 2D and 3D shapes.
Bradlee & Todd are working together to sort their shapes. Derrel & Piper are sorting by shape.
Andrea & Preston decided to sort by shape too. Avery & Natalee sorted their shapes by size.
Bradlee, Todd, Piper, & Derrel are learning to draw 2D shapes.
Exploring Rectangles:
Aryah, Avery, Kanen, Sean, & Ameliya working Judah, Alex, Derrel, & Andrea are flipping and
together to make a rectangle collage. rotating their recangles to creat their collage.
Bradlee, Felicity, Tamika, & Devan are busy arranging Piper, Preston, Todd, & Natalee are compromising on where to put their rectangles. on where to fit their rectangles on their collage.

I'm Living It Service Project

We are using teamwork to fill all of the bags.
Thank you Joanie Christopher for helping us out. It takes all of us to make a difference.
Counting how many bags we filled. We filled 19 HUGE garbage bags! Our hard work paid off.

I'm Living It Expedition

We will be observing, questioning, making hypotheses, experimenting, recording, analyzing, & sharing our results.

Tamika is telling Felicity that lettuce is a leaf. Piper tells my son, Lucas, that celery is a stem.
Kanen explaining that apples are fruit because they have seeds in them. Derrel says that carrots are roots and Andrea says apples are fruit.

Piper asks, "Is that a rock in the soil?" to observe her pumpkin seed.
Bradlee and Tamika are planting their pumpkin seeds. Natalee, Preston, Carter, & Todd are watering their
pumpkin seeds.
Alex, Aryah, Kanen, & Ameliya say that plants need water to live. Avery, Sawyer, Derrel, Andrea, & Judah have planted their pumpkin seeds and are getting the soil ready to germinate them.
We know that plants need sunlight. So what will happen if we put our plants under the grow light?

Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze Fieldwork

To kick-off our "I'm Living It" Expedition, we went and visited Greg Knight's Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze in Colville.
The Kindergartners were looking for evidence that plants are living things and the parts of a plant. It was a fun day and thankfully no one got lost in the corn maze.
We found some seeds. Look! Here are some leaves!
This pumpkin is dead. Is this a curly stem?
Plants need water to live. Sawyer found some flowers.
Are these vegetables or fruits? Uh, Mrs. Price, a little help here please.
Mrs. Price, can I have both of these please? Sawyer & Abby have found a good seat.Ok, now which way should we go? Let's work We feel like we've been here before. Let's check the map again.
