  • Composing Larger Shapes with Smaller Shapes

Posted by Caroline Munds on 11/21/2019

In Ms. Munds' kindergarten class, students spent time-solving shape puzzles during math work places.  These puzzles require students to find three solutions to each puzzle using pattern blocks in the shapes of a rhombus, triangle, hexagon, and trapezoid.  Students need to use these smaller shapes to perfectly fit within the puzzle's larger form.  They really enjoyed the challenge!

  • Imaginations at Work: Kid City Adventure

Posted by Caroline Munds on 11/1/2019

In Ms. Munds' kindergarten classroom students participated in their first adventure at Kid City in Colville.  The students learned about toys, toy engineering, and the power of imagination while playing with toys.  During this adventure, students practiced using their imaginations by visiting all the realistic parts of a city and playing.  They pretended to be a grocery store clerk, shopper, mechanic, and driver.  Imagination is alive and well in this kindergarten classroom.
