• Appropriate Dress Code

Dress and appearance must be neat and clean and must not present health or safety problems or disrupt the educational process.  Shoes are to be worn at all times in classrooms and hallways. Reasonable standards of dress and appearance may be established consistent with these rights and responsibilities.  Students failing to meet these requirements will be asked to change or may be sent home to dress properly for school attendance.

Any student who wears, carries, or displays gang-related apparel, or who exhibits behavior or gestures, which symbolize gang membership, or who causes and/or participates in activities, which intimidate or affect the attendance of another student shall be asked to make appropriate corrections.

Wearing of clothing, (backpacks, coats, hats, shirts, pins, etc.) that “advertise” alcoholic beverages, other drugs, or tobacco products, or clothing having profane or vulgar words, phrases, insinuations or pictures on them or long coats (trench coats, dusters, etc) exposes cleavage, private parts, the midriff, or undergarments, or that is otherwise sexually provocative is prohibited (this includes short-shorts).  Students in violation of this section will be required to remove or change the clothing.  Flagrant or repeated violation of this section will lead to disciplinary action.  The school reserves the right to require students to change their apparel.
